Calling All Officials
Sign-up is open for anyone interested in being an official at one of the FLL BC tournaments. It's a fun, exciting day of robotics and high-energy activities with bright kids.
Officials In Action!
We need volunteers for each of the following areas during the three regional tournaments as well as the provincial tournament. Sign up to be an official using the Officials Sign-Up form by October 27, 2007.
- Referee/Pit Crew
- Watch each robot match & award scores based on the Challenge missions.
- Project Room
- Watch project presentations & award scores.
- Tech Room
- Look at robots in detail & award scores for design, innovation & risk.
- Teamwork
- Interact with teams throughout the day & award points for teamwork.
- Scoring
- Crunch the numbers to produce the results & award the trophies.
- Site
- Coordinate the site & competition rooms.
Coordination and training of officials is done by Jon Nakane (604-822-2110, jnakane@physics.ubc.ca). Please contact Jon if you have any questions.
- Training for Referees and Pit Crew will be on November 8, 2007 at John Oliver Secondary in Vancouver.
- Training for all other areas will be by conference call on November 15, 2007 in the evening.
